This Home, located in
the
Nantucket-on-the-Severn
Community was a great
challenge. The clients
desire to build an
expansive home with an
indoor pool on the
waterside coupled with
very tight site constraints
forced the architect to
reinvent the way a
traditional home is
designed.
It makes the most of the
views from a maximum
number of rooms and
created some cozy
interior and exterior
spaces.
The character is very
unique, yet at home with
the
chesapeake-nantucket
vernacular. The indoor
pool flows into the lanai
to create a dramatic
year-round "outdoor"
space.

heavily wooded and
secluded lot in
Crownsville, Maryland is
best described as a
"storybook" house.
Although it is unique in
every way, it harkens
back to the era of classic
European chateaux.
We worked hard to
nestle the house in the
sites unspoiled
environs, carving out a
gentle addition to nature.
